We were discussing baby names when I told him I hate the boy's name. He got to choose the girl's first name and the boy's middle name, I chose the girl's middle name and the boy's first name. Jordyn Catherine Veil and Aidan Odin Veil.

"Odin has to go," I said, "because really? Aidan Odin? Say it out loud."

"I want to stick with a Norse god though. Someone people will recognize as a god without it leaping to mind at first. We could also do..."

He pulls out a book of mythology, an amateur interest of both of ours, and runs through some more gods. Loki. I stop him.

"Loki. Aidan Loki Veil. I really like that."

He looks down at me and smiles. "You know what all this mythology talk is making me want to watch?"

At the same time, both of us, "Hercules, the Disney version."

I curl up on his lap and together, we pick apart the details, the misconceptions. I could spend the rest of my life with him.
