People always try to justify the things you say when you're angry with that very excuse. "Oh, you were just angry. It's okay that you accused me of killing my pet and wrecking your marriage and tearing apart the family because you said all those things while you were upset and therefore not thinking clearly."

What they don't realize is that those thoughts had to come from somewhere, and they were probably thinking them long before they became angry.
